About Chiropractic
The word "chiropractic" combines the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (action) and means "done by hand." Chiropractic is a form of spinal manipulation, which is one of the oldest healing practices. Spinal manipulation was practiced and written about extensively by Hippocrates in ancient Greece. Hippocrates was a Greek physician who has become known as the Father of Modern Medicine. The practice of manipulation can be traced as far back as 800 BC.
